"And, behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the world. Amen." - Matthew 28:20b
When times look hardest and you feel you're all alone in a cold world. When it seems like there is no one there for you and even God has gone quiet. When it seems like no one understands you, as if you speak a language of your own that can't be understood by everyone else. Remember that He is with you all the days until the end of the world. Have faith in His love. Even when it looks like no one loves you.
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, "For Your sake we are killed all the day long. We are counted as sheep of slaughter." But in all these things we more than conquer through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:35-39 MKJV
Affirmation: Nothing can separate me from His love. He is always there with me and for me!

"And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was as if a man inquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom." - 2 Samuel 16:23.
Often times we find comfort following what everyone else is doing. There seems to be comfort in numbers. Thousands of people dump their convictions to follow the crowd, even though historically the crowd has been known to go in the wrong direction. Thousands of Jews cursed at Jesus and chanted, "Crucify him!" not knowing they were killing the Son of God. Many people were persuaded into genocide wiping out the Jews in the holocaust. Some times it just takes one individual with a warped mindset and persuasion power to swerve an entire nation or larger in the wrong direction. Think of the cults we have seen in our time that persuaded people into suicide. In our nation we witnessed a whole group of people that even formed their own language and worshiped a child who was believed to be Jesus reincarnated. It can go from such religious extremes to other more subtle things in life. The subtle things will determine whether your life will be a relevant life or just another existence.
In the old testament, an interesting phrase is used for a group of people that caused some problems in a subtle way. When the children of Israel left Egypt, other people who were not Jews also joined them. These were called "The mixed multitude". " And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle." - Exodus 12:38. When they were now in the wilderness, we read:
"And the mixed multitude that was among them lusted exceedingly: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? And Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, every man at the door of his tent: and the anger of Jehovah was kindled greatly; and Moses was displeased. And there went forth a wind from Jehovah, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, about a day's journey on this side, and a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and about two cubits above the face of the earth. And the people rose up all that day, and all the night, and all the next day, and gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp. While the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the anger of Jehovah was kindled against the people, and Jehovah smote the people with a very great plague." - Numbers 11:4, 10, 31-33.
Is it not amazing how many Christians are led by the mixed multitude? God is doing mighty things in their lives and they allow the reasoning of the mixed multitude to destroy God's work in them. Never doubt in the dark what God told you in the light. Remember how in the garden of Eden God had given the clear instruction, "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." - Genesis 2:17. Then came the devil in the 3rd Chapter, "And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as God, knowing good and evil." It is always amazing how we can actually take anyone else's word over God's. We know that Eve went on to eat of the forbidden tree and that led to the fall of man.
To many of you reading this right now, God has spoken clear things. For some reason you doubt God's word when it looks easier to follow the crowd. The centre of that reaction is fear. Fear is the absence of faith. Lack of faith means believing God is unable to deliver. It means you trust what you can do more than you trust God to do what he said He would do. It is making your own mission more important than the mission God has for you. Sounds to me like Jonah. "I am God, and no other is God, even none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from the past things which were not done, saying, My purpose shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure." - Isaiah 46:9b-10. Will you allow Him to do His pleasure in you life? Will you avail yourself to allow His purposes to stand through you? Remember the words of Mordecai to Esther, "For if you are completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall arise to the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house shall be destroyed. And who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for a time like this?" - Esther 4:14.
Get rid of the mixed multitude in your life. They know nothing about the purposes of God in your life. In Nehemiah, we read, "And it happened when they had heard the Law, they separated all the mixed multitude from Israel." When the word of the Lord enters into your life and He begins to set order in you, you need to get rid of the mixed multitude. They will just get your thoughts mixed up just as they are mixed up! Set your gaze upon the purpose of God in your life. Do not sway to the left or to the right. Stop your ears from their suggestions. Only be moved by what you believe. Have an unswerving conviction on the things of God. He can not lie to you. If He did, that would become the new reality. When you stick to His word, your breakthrough will be sure.
Affirmation: I believe that God is unfolding my purpose in me just the way He said He would. I am not moved by the move of the crowd, I am unique and God is the director of my life.
